A sandwich policy can count weekends and holidays that fall between leave days as leave. Clubbing restrictions, minimum gaps, advance-notice windows, document-required-after-N-days, and negative-balance rules are all settings, not custom code. Tiered leave-pay rules can pay the first days at full rate and later days at a reduced rate.
